The Iipay Nation of Santa Ysabel in California says it will start offering real money Internet poker games next week. The tribe announced PrivateTable.Com last month but wasn't accepting money bets at the time. David Vialpando, the chairman of the Santa Ysabel Gaming Commission, says he will be "flipping the switch" sometime between August 26 and August 28, according to various gaming websites.

The tribe closed it physical casino in February. The facility failed to meet expectations and owes millions of dollars to its creditors, including the Yavapai-Apache Nation of Arizona. Federal law bars Internet gaming unless it is conducted under a Class III gaming compact or under state law. Neither condition appears to be met in California but tribal officials and their attorneys believe PrivateTable.Com is legal. Get the Story:
