Seneca Nation celebrates opening of Class II gaming facility

The Seneca Nation of New York held a grand opening for its new Class II facility.

The facility in Oil Spring features 111 electronic Class II games. It's been open to the public since July 4 and tribal leaders have been extremely pleased with the reception.

“Since the newest Oil Spring facility opened earlier this month, there hasn’t been an empty seat in the house or an empty spot in the parking lot,” SNI President Barry E. Snyder Sr. said at the grand opening ceremony, The Olean Times Herald reported. “We couldn’t be more thrilled to be able to provide a fun and inviting gaming destination for the Southern Tier and beyond.”

The tribe is looking to expand the facility. But future plans depend on how well the casino performs, an executive said.
