The St. Regis Mohawk Tribe of New York is concerned about proposals for a non-Indian gaming facility. The tribe renewed its agreement to share revenues with the state in exchange for regional exclusivity. The proposed track/video lottery facility in Jefferson County lies within the tribe's territory. "The St. Regis Mohawk Tribe would oppose any development that may jeopardize our established gaming operations," spokesperson Allyson Doctor told The Albany Times-Union. An official with the New York Gaming Commission, however, told the paper that the tribe's exclusivity agreement doesn't bar a track or video lottery facility in Jefferson County. The proposed site is near the Canadian border and about 85 miles from the Akwesasne Mohawk Casino and Resort. Get the Story:
