The Bishop Paiute Tribe of California says it has a right to develop land next to its casino.

The tribe hasn't confirmed plans to expand the Paiute Palace Casino. But Chairman Chad Delgado said the land in question remains unassigned.

Members of the Napoles family, however, dispute that claim. They say they were assigned the lots and are protesting plans to expand the casino.

Eight tribal members were cited for trespassing on the land and appeared in court yesterday, the Save North Pa Ha group said on Facebook. They were found guilty, Chairman Delgado said.
