The Match-E-Be-Nash-She-Wish Band of Pottawatomi Indians, also known as the Gun Lake Tribe, is sharing $7.9 million in gaming revenues in Michigan. Under its Class III gaming compact, the tribe shares between 8 percent and 12 percent of electronic gaming revenues from the Gun Lake Casino with the state. Another 2 percent is set aside for local communities. The payments are made twice a year. This spring, the state has received $6.3 million and nearly $1.6 million is going to local communities. “This revenue sharing distribution marks a very significant milestone. Today, we have given over $50 million to state and local governments in support of many worthwhile causes,” Chairman D.K. Sprague said in a press release. “The tribe is proud to continue making meaningful contributions to the community.” The tribe has shared $52.2 million since the casino opened in February 2011.
