Gaming tribes contributed $10 billion to the economy in California in 2012, according to a study commissioned by the California Nations Indian Gaming Association. Gaming revenues accounted for nearly $8 billion. Non-gaming revenue -- such as hotels, spas and retail -- brought in another $2.3 billion. “California tribal governments are upholding the promise we made to California voters: that we would provide for our people and land, create jobs in local communities, and be good neighbors by supporting the non-profits and public entities that contribute to the quality of life in our regions," CNIGA Chairman Danny Tucker said in a press release.
