Snoqualmie Tribe seeks repayment of investment in Fiji casino

The Snoqualmie Tribe of Washington says it is owed $1.5 million for investing in a casino project on the island nation of Fiji.

The tribe pulled out of the deal with developer One Hundred Sands after the project was slow to start. The tribe is waiting to be repaid for its investment.

"The Snoqualmie Indian Tribe has been patient and co-operative throughout this project," spokesperson Jaime Martin told The Fiji Times. "We have reached out to One Hundred Sands seeking repayment of this loan but have yet to receive payment."

One Hundred Sands finally started construction earlier this month.
