Colville Tribes to open first hotel as part of $43M gaming project

The Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation in Washington are hoping a new $43 million casino will become a destination resort.

The facility in Omak will feature a 52,000-square-foot casino and an 80-room hotel, a first for the tribe. The goal is to draw patrons from Canada, about 45 miles away.

“We’re expecting to get a large pool from Canada, as we do now,” Chairman Michael Finley told Indian Country Today. “We expect some will stay longer and spend more of their disposable income as we’ll have a hotel.”

The new facility will be twice the size of the Mill Bay Casino. It will replace the Okanogan Bingo Casino.

The tribe plans to break ground in May. Construction should take about a year.
