Connecticut tribes report slot machine revenues for February

Connecticut's two federally recognized tribes reported slot machine revenue for the month of February 2014.

The Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation saw $39.34 million in revenue at Foxwoods Resort Casino. That represented a 2.2 percent increase from February 2013.

“The increase over last year is certainly impacted by last year’s blizzard; however, this is a positive sign,” Foxwoods President and CEO Scott Butera said in a press release. “The continued consistency in our numbers signifies that the direction we are taking is the correct one for our business and our loyal guests.”

On the other hand, the Mohegan Tribe didn't do as well at the Mohegan Sun. Slot machine revenue was $43.86 million million, a decline of about 4 percent from a year prior.

Both tribes share 25 percent of slot machine revenue with the state under their Class III gaming compacts. The Pequots shared $9.8 million and the Mohegans shared $10.9 million.
