The Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe of Massachusetts will spend $12.7 million on gaming efforts this year, The Cape Cod Times reports.

The figure comes from the tribe's 2014 budget. Consultants will be paid $7 million and another $3.2 million is earmarked for legal costs.

The $12.7 million comes as a loan from the tribe's investors, the paper said. The tribe presumably has to repay the money once the $500 million First Light Resort and Casino opens.

Elsewhere in the tribe's $14.5 million budget is a $175,000 annual salary for the tribe's gaming commissioner, the highest on the reservation.
