Editorial: Make a decision on Menominee Nation casino project

What more does Walker need to know? And what discussions with the interested parties need to be held? Who hasn't been talked to; who has not voiced an opinion? Two tribes remain adamantly opposed to the proposed casino; that fact alone should kill the casino proposal, based on Walker's own criteria, which says that all the tribes have to agree. Another criteria — no net new gaming — also would seem to kill the project. That's the right decision: no new casino.

But still Walker wanders the halls of the Capitol like a forlorn Hamlet, unable to make up his own mind. "To gamble or not to gamble?" And this comes with a cost: Administration Secretary Mike Huebsch has hired the Dykema Gossett law firm to help review the proposal; the firm is to be paid up to $500,000 for the work.

Why? Come on, governor, one way or the other: Make a decision.
