The Morongo Band of Mission Indians is opposing an Internet poker bill that will prevent its partner from doing business in California. The tribe has partnered with partnered with PokerStars in hopes of offering poker games in conjunction with non-Indian card clubs. But the Internet Poker Consumer Protection Act of 2014 includes a "bad actor" clause that is targeted at PokerStars. “We strongly oppose the so-called ‘bad actor’ language that is nothing other than a blatant attempt to provide certain interests with unfair competitive advantage by arbitrarily locking out trusted brands," the Morongo Band and its allies said in a statement. "We will vigorously oppose any legislation that includes this language.” The bill has the support of 13 gaming tribes, including several with large gaming facilities. Get the Story:
