The Catawba Nation is keeping it in the Indian family with its new high-stakes bingo hall. The Catawbas hired Metcon, a contractor owned by a member of the Lumbee Tribe of North Carolina, to build out the bingo hall in Rock Hill, South Carolina. It's the first time the firm has worked with another Indian nation. “It is an honor to work with another tribe on a project that contributes to economic growth,” Metcon chief executive officer and president Aaron Thomas told The Rock Hill Herald. The Catawbas, the only federally recognized tribe in South Carolina, are supporting the Lumbee Tribe's bid for federal recognition. And the Lumbees are supporting a proposed Catawba Nation Class III facility in North Carolina. Get the Story:
