Supporters of the Spokane Tribe off-reservation are calling on officials in Spokane County, Washington, to end their campaign against the project. The county has paid a law firm $300,000 in just the past 18 months to fight the Spokane Tribe Economic Project. Supporters -- including the mayor of Airway Heights, where the casino would be located -- said officials should welcome new opportunities. The Bureau of Indian Affairs has issued the final environmental impact study for the West Plains Mixed-Use Development but has yet to issue a record of decision on the project. Get the Story:
