The Navajo Nation will be celebrating the first anniversary of its Class III facility in Arizona.

The Twin Arrows Navajo Casino Resort opened during the Memorial Day weekend in 2013. The facility reportedly got off to a rocky start but the tribe has already expanded it with the addition of 110 hotel rooms.

"This area is unique," Derrick Watchman, a tribal member who serves as CEO of the Navajo Nation Gaming Enterprise, told The Navajo-Hopi Observer. "We're learning how to entice our customers to come in here. We're the crown jewel of the Navajo Nation."

The tribe will be adding a shopping center, entertainment pavilion and other amenities to the facility.
