The Seminole Tribe of Florida hopes to renew its Class III gaming compact by the end of the year, a top gaming executive said. The compact expires in 2015. Negotiations have already begun with Gov. Rick Scott (R). "Certainly because we're in the session right now - you know - it's certainly a conversation that comes up," Seminole Gaming CEO James Allen told WCGU. "But there's no pressure from the Tribe or visaversa that we have to get this done tomorrow but we certainly are anxious and hopeful that it could happen this year." Allen's comments came at a ceremony to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Seminole Hard Rock Tampa. The facility is the fourth largest in the U.S. and the sixth largest in the world, WUSF reported. “We want to use our 10th anniversary as a celebration of the property’s successes and accomplishments,” John Fontana, the president of the casino, said in a press release. “But, more importantly, we want to give back to show we are extremely grateful for the magnitude of support from Tampa Bay throughout all of these years."
