Tribes in Connecticut are set to take over law enforcement duties at their gaming facilities.

The Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation and the Mohegan Tribe each have negotiated agreements with the Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection. They will handle all day-to-day activities with the exception of background checks and investigations, The New London Day reported.

The tribes previously paid the state for law enforcement services at their casinos.
