Tips stolen after Mashantucket Tribe's poker tournament

A well-known poker tournament photographer and videographer was charged for stealing tips at the casino owned by the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation of Connecticut.

Jay WhoJedi" Newnum reportedly used chopsticks to remove tips from a locked box after a poker tournament at Foxwoods Resort Casino. The incident occurred last month and his case was quickly resolved and sealed in the state court system.

But it made news last week after the president of the union that represents poker dealers wrote about the theft on Facebook. Newnum kept quiet for a few days until he posted a statement on his website and said he was leaving the poker world "indefinitely."

The union president said Newsum has been barred from Foxwoods for life. The casino declined to talk about the case.
