Six Michigan tribes in Class III gaming compact negotiations

Six tribes are in Class III gaming compact negotiations with the state of Michigan.
The compacts are due to expire on November 30. They were originally signed in 1993.
“Everything is on the table,” Dave Murray, a spokesman for
Gov. Rick Snyder
(R), told The Detroit Free Press. “We’ve worked hard to build a good working relationship with the tribes, and we’re optimistic the discussions will be productive.”

Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians
, the
Hannahville Indian Community
, the
Lac Vieux Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians
, the
Saginaw Chippewa Tribe
and the
Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians
