The
Muscogee Nation
broke ground on a $335 million expansion of the
River Spirit
Casino in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
The expansion will include a new gaming area, an entertainment venue, a
convention center, a spa, a pool, a theater and restaurants in partnership with
Jimmy Buffett's
Margaritaville brand.
There will also be a 22-story, 500-room hotel.
"The vision was to help our people and do something with economic development, and I believe we've reached some of those goals," Chief George Tiger said, News on 6 reported.
Construction is expected to generate as many as 1,800 jobs. Work should be complete by early 2015.
