The Santa Maria Sun tours at the casino owned by the
Santa Ynez Band of
Chumash Indians in California and finds a strong emphasis on "green" energy.
"There’s a lot more support and encouragement for innovation here than at most government and nonprofit agencies I’ve seen,” environmental director Joshua Simmons told the paper.
The
Chumash Casino Resort includes a rooftop system that reduces pollution, an electric vehicle charging station, solar panels and LED lighting.
