Tour: Chumash Tribe puts emphasis on green energy at casino

The Santa Maria Sun tours at the casino owned by the Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Indians in California and finds a strong emphasis on "green" energy.

"There’s a lot more support and encouragement for innovation here than at most government and nonprofit agencies I’ve seen,” environmental director Joshua Simmons told the paper.

The Chumash Casino Resort includes a rooftop system that reduces pollution, an electric vehicle charging station, solar panels and LED lighting.
