Pokagon Band to release revenue sharing figures this month
Thursday, September 12, 2013
The
Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians
is set to release revenue sharing figures later this month and local governments are already clamoring for a cut.
The
Pokagon-New Buffalo Local Revenue Sharing Board
has received "specific" requests for more than $570,000. These requests are deducted before the rest of the money is distributed to the community.
In 2012, the tribe shared $6.5 million in revenues. The amount is based on 2 percent of electronic gaming revenues at the flagship
Four Winds Casino
in New Buffalo.
