Hard Rock faces vote on commercial casino in Massachusetts

Hard Rock International, which is owned by the Seminole Tribe of Florida, faces a September 10 vote on its commercial casino in western Massachusetts.

Hard Rock is proposing an $800 million casino in West Springfield. Local voters must approve the project as part of the process for the commercial casino.

The project faces competition from the Mohegan Tribe of Connecticut. The license for the sole casino is expected to be awarded in early 2014.
