County considers standards for use of tribal gaming revenue

Officials in Shawano County, Wisconsin, are considering whether to develop standards for the use of tribal gaming revenues.

The county receives about $82,000 a year from the Ho-Chunk Nation, The Shawano Leader reports. Right now, the money goes into a capital improvement fund.

"We could not find anywhere where this money was supposed to go to," county supervisor Sandy Steinke told the paper. "There's no policy or guidelines."

The only restriction on the money is that it can't be used to take action against the tribe.
