Wednesday, July 10, 2013
A non-Indian racetrack has dropped "casino" from its name as a result of an agreement between the state of New York and the Seneca Nation.
Batavia Downs Casino will be known as Batavia Downs Gaming. The facility has to stop using "casino" in order to respect the exclusive Class III gaming rights of the tribe.
In related news, the tribe is holding a job fair Thursday for 200 positions at its two off-reservation casinos.
