The
Ramona Band of Cahuilla
Indians presented its Class III gaming compact to the Assembly Governmental Organization Committee on Wednesday.
The compact authorizes up to 750 slot machines, although a facility with a smaller number of machines is expected. The casino will utilize renewable energy sources.
"The Ramona Band of Cahuilla is especially pleased with the outcome of the compact negotiations, as the compact…provides the band with the means to become more self-reliant and self-sufficient,” Chairman Joseph Hamilton told the committee, The Riverside Press-Enterprise reported.
A copy of the compact can be found on the
governor's website.
