The
Mohegan Tribe of
Connecticut expects to finish a $50 million expansion project at its Pennsylvania casino sometime this fall.
The tribe is adding a 238-room hotel, a 20,000 square-foot convention center, a bistro, an indoor pool and fitness center and 4,150 square-foot spa to the
Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs. A topping-off ceremony was held Thursday.
"Over the next few months, crews will be installing the finishing touches," Mike Bean, the president and general manager of the casino, said at the ceremony, The Wilkes Barre Citizens Voice reported. "The construction process has been extremely smooth despite a rough winter and is on schedule."
The facility offers slot machines and table games under a state license.
