Eastern Cherokees to move quickly for second gaming facility

The Eastern Band of Cherokee
Indians is moving quickly on a second gaming facility in North Carolina.
The tribal council approved plans for a $110 million casino in Cherokee County.
A temporary facility is expected to open within six months of groundbreaking, with a permanent building to follow within 18 months of groundbreaking.
Plans call for a 50,000 to 60,000 square-foot casino with a 300-room hotel.
