Tuesday, March 12, 2013
A bill that would allow the Nez Perce Tribe to sell liquor at its casino is moving toward a final vote in the Idaho Legislature.
House
Bill 159 creates a new exception in state liquor law that applies to tribal
hotel facilities with at least 50 rooms and at least 50,000 square-feet of
space.
It allows the tribe to sell liquor at the Clearwater River Casino as part of a $16 million expansion of the facility.
The Senate State Affairs Committee approved the bill on Monday, clearing the way for a final vote on the Senate floor. The House passed the bill by a 51-19 vote in February.
