The Suquamish Tribe of Washington will spend the next five years on a casino expansion project.

The tribe plans to add conference space that will turn the Suquamish Clearwater Casino Resort into the largest convention center in the region. A five-story, 100-room hotel, a parking garage and a remodel of the gaming floor are also part of the expansion.

"This is something we've wanted to do for some time, and now's the opportunity to do it," Russ Steele, the chief executive officer of Port Madison Enterprises (PME), told The Kitsap Sun.

Steele didn't say how much the project will cost.
