Muscogee Nation leader in Alabama as casino fight escalates

Muscogee Nation Chief George Tiger is in Alabama today to discuss a casino dispute with the Poarch Band of Creek Indians.

Tiger is due to hold a press conference at 3pm at the federal courthourse in Montgomery. That's the court where the Muscogee Nation filed a lawsuit to stop the Poarch Band from building a casino on top of a sacred Creek burial ground.

Three members of the Muscogee Nation were arrested on Friday for attempting to hold a prayer ceremony at the site of the $246 million expansion of the Wind Creek Wetumpka. One of them, Wayland Gray, remains jailed on a $30,000 cash-only bond.

The Muscogees who were arrested are part of Save Hickory Ground, a group that opposes the casino expansion.
