Santee Sioux Tribe of Nebraska is holding a grand opening ceremony for its new $20 million gaming facility.
The 61,000 square-foot
Ohiya Casino replaces an older facility. It offers about 200 electronic Class II games and employs about 90 people.
"Everything is much bigger, everything is beautiful, everything is brand new," general manager Thelma Thomas told KTIV-TV.
The tribe battled federal prosecutors for years in order to offer Class II electronic games
The state refuses to negotiate a Class III gaming compact.
