Oneida Nation breaks ground on $25M gaming expansion project

The Oneida Nation of New York broke ground on a $25 million expansion at its casino.

The tribe is adding an entertainment venue to the Turning Stone Resort Casino. The "Exit 33" complex will include a country music dance hall, a rock and roll club, an ultra lounge and a piano bar.

"It’s going to create a premier venue unlike anything else in Central New York,” Oneida Nation Representative and Nation Enterprises CEO Ray Halbritter said at a press conference, The Syracuse Post-Standard reported.

The project will create 200 construction jobs and 100 permanent jobs. It's expected to be complete by July 2013.
