Winnebago Tribe submits bid for a commercial casino in Iowa

The Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska met a deadline on Monday to bid for a commercial casino in Iowa.

Ho-Chunk Inc, the tribe's economic development corporation, is proposing a $120 million investment in the Warrior Casino & Hotel. The project would feature 32,274 square-feet of gaming space, a buffet, a restaurant, a sports bar and a 93-unit hotel.

Ho-Chunk Inc is one of three bidders who submitted an application to the Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission for the casino in Sioux City. A decision is expected in spring 2013.
