Couple accused of theft at Mashantucket Tribe casino venues

A Connecticut couple was arrested and charged in connection with the theft of $2.5 million from nightlife venues at the casino owned by the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation.

Lynn A. Scheufler was the controller for the Big Night Entertainment Group, which operates three venues at the Foxwoods Resort Casino. She is accused of stealing money from the company and cooking the books.

Scheufler's husband, Craig L. Galligan, is accused of manipulating deposits to the couple's bank accounts in order to avoid federal financial reporting requirements. Authorities say they gambled millions of dollars in stolen money at Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun.
