The
Oneida Nation has started a new group to oppose the expansion of non-Indian gaming in New York.
The group, New Yorkers for Local Approval of Casinos, will raise money to ensure that local communities have a say in new gaming proposals.
"The Oneida Nation is pleased to be a member of the coalition, including providing financial support," spokesperson Lorraine Hennings told The Wall Street Journal.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) supports an expansion of non-Indian gaming.
