Muscogee citizen calls for bulldozing of Poarch Creek casino
Wednesday, September 19, 2012
Eli Grayson, a member of the Muscogee Nation of
Oklahoma, knows how the Poarch Creek Band of
Indians can address concerns about a casino on a sacred site in Alabama.
"A bulldozer. Just bulldoze the casino, the entertainment venue, the parking garage, all of it," Grayson told The Tulsa World.
The Poarch Creeks are planning a $285 million expansion of the Wind Creek
Wetumpka on their trust land in Alabama. The Muscogees, however, say their ancestors are buried on
the property, also known as the Hickory
Ground.
