The Confederated Tribes of Coos, Lower Umpqua and Siuslaw Indians in Oregon are planning a major casino expansion.
A golf course, more hotel rooms, a new nonsmoking restaurant, an indoor aquatic center and an overnight RV park are in the works at the Three Rivers Casino and Hotel.
“No one around the Portland vicinity offers all those amenities at one place,” general manager Mike Rose told The Eugene Register-Guard.
The tribe will undertake the expansion stages. First up is an upgrade of a 140-acre golf course near the casino was recently purchased for $5 million.
The tribe plans to line up $16 million to $20 million for the first phase of the project. That could happen early next year, Rose said.
The tribe is on track to pay off an existing $70 million in debts related to the construction of the casino, according to Rose.
