Bay Mills Indian Community hails off-reservation casino ruling

The Bay Mills Indian Community of Michigan welcomed a ruling favoring its off-reservation casino but didn't say whether it plans to reopen the disputed facility.

The 6th Circuit Court of Appeals on Wednesday lifted an injunction against the casino in Vanderbilt. But the court did not say whether the facility is legal, only that it lacked jurisdiction over a lawsuit and that the tribe did not waive its sovereign immunity.

The tribe debuted the casino last November.
