"As I travel across tribal lands throughout Oklahoma, I’m always excited by the growth and opportunity happening in Indian Country. It wasn’t long ago that Oklahoma tribes embarked on a long, yet important journey to bring financial independence to our respective peoples and economic development to many rural communities.
This journey toward economic independence has allowed many tribes to initiate exciting new ventures. No doubt, these opportunities, whether civic, educational, commercial or otherwise, were driven by the financial strength made possible by gaming operations.
From Monday through Wednesday, the 26 member tribes of the Oklahoma Indian Gaming Association, tribal officials and attendees from all over the nation will gather for OIGA’s 18th annual conference and trade show. With more than 2,500 attendees expected, an event that is already the nation’s second-largest tribal gaming convention will be even bigger this year."
