The
Winnebago Tribe isn't revealing details of its proposed commercial casino in Iowa but a top executive says a hotel will be a part of the plan.
Ho-Chunk Inc., the tribe's
economic development corporation, wants to partner with Missouri River Historical Development, a non-profit, for a land-based facility in downtown Sioux Falls.
Bids are due November 1.
“It really is a win-win for the community if a local investor does it,” Lance Morgan, the CEO of Ho-Chunk Inc., told The Omaha World-Herald.
Iowa law requires casino developers to pair with qualified non-profits, the paper said.
Missouri River Historical Development has been operating the
Argosy, a riverboat casino with
Penn National Gaming, an out-of-state company.
