Federal Register notice for United Keetoowah Band casino land

It's official -- the casino site of the
United Keetoowah Band of Cherokee Indians
is going into trust.
The
Bureau of Indian Affairs
published a notice in today's issue of the
Federal Register
, announcing approval of the tribe's land-into-trust application. The notice triggers a 30-day waiting period for challenges.
The
Cherokee Nation
has already said it will challenge the decision. The tribe is going to the
Interior Board of Indian Appeals
.
The BIA's decision applies to the two-acre site of the
Keetoowah Cherokee Casino
.
