Gun Lake Tribe shares $1.6M in casino revenue with community

The Match-E-Be-Nash-She-Wish Band of Pottawatomi Indians, also known as the Gun Lake Tribe, shared $1.6 million in gaming revenues with communities in Michigan.

Under its Class III gaming compact, the tribe shares 2 percent of net win from electronic games twice a year. Since the Gun Lake Casino opened in early 2011, the tribe has shared nearly $18.5 million.

"We are truly blessed to have the Gun Lake Tribe as friends and neighbors," Wayland Township Supervisor Roger VanVolkinburg said in a press release, The Allegan County News reported.
