UPDATE: TRIBAL ONLINE GAMING ACT OF 2012:
Summary of SCIA Internet gaming bill |
Draft of SCIA Internet gaming bill
An Internet gaming bill drafted by the Senate Indian Affairs Committee online allows poker, GamblingCompliance reports.
The draft authorizes the Commerce Department to regulate online poker games offered by tribes, according to GamblingCompliance
That cuts the National Indian Gaming Commission out of the picture.
The draft states that existing Class III gaming compacts will not be modified. And it reaffirms that tribal online gaming revenues cannot be taxed, GamblingCompliance reports.
A copy of the 49-page draft was provided to tribal leaders who are attending a legislative summit of the National Indian Gaming
Association in Washington, D.C., this week.
