Commission to discuss Mashpee Wampanoag casino concerns

Massachusetts Gaming Commission has agreed to meet with the leaders of three communities to discuss their concerns about the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe.

The leaders of Lakeville, Berkley and Middleboro say they have been left out of the process. H.3702, the state's gaming law, only requires the tribe to address the concerns of a casino host community.

Middleboro has additional concerns because it had an agreement with the tribe for a casino. The tribe pulled out of the deal and the town is seeking compensation.
