Stockbridge-Munsee off-reservation casino back on the radar

The Stockbridge-Munsee Band of Mohican Indians in Wisconsin has renewed plans for an off-reservation casino in New York.

The tribe recently updated its land-into-trust application for 330 acres in the Catskills, President Robert Chicks told The Middletown Times Herald-Record. The Bureau of Indian Affairs is now restarting the environmental review process.

The tribe's ancestors lived in New York before being removed to Wisconsin.
