Public shows support for Sault Tribe off-reservation casino

The city council in Lansing, Michigan, heard from the public on the off-reservation casino proposed by the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians.

A majority of speakers were in favor of the $245 million casino, The Lansing City Pulse reported. That contrasted with prior public meetings in which more opponents spoke.

The city council is expected to vote March 19 whether to continue with the project.
