Local officials pressure BIA and NIGC on Kialegee casino bid

Officials in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, were in Washington, D.C., to lobby against the Kialegee Tribal Town casino.

The officials met with the Bureau of Indian Affairs and the National Indian Gaming Commission to discuss the project. They said they didn't really get the answers they were looking for.

"We certainly didn't get the hard answers we wanted," Mayor Mike Lester told The Tulsa World.

The tribe is building the Red Clay Casino on an Indian allotment owned by two members of the Muscogee Nation.
