A bill in Utah ensures that tribes won't be able to engage in Internet gaming should it become legal in the U.S.
Under the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act, tribes can engage in the same types of gaming allowed in the state. Utah already bans all games of chance but lawmakers want to close up any potential loopholes.
“Were we to recognize gambling or permit HR 1174 to come in, the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act could easily be used as a method to give casino gambling for Utah.” Sen. John Valentine (R) was quoted as saying.
H.R.1174 is an Internet gaming bill.
