A new Class III gaming compact has boosted the number of employees at the casino owned by the Eastern Band of Cherokee
Indians to 2,500, The Smoky Mountain Times reports.
The compact authorized live card dealers at Harrah’s
Cherokee Casino and Resort.
The tribe hired another 500 people to handle the new games.
The tribe celebrated the new compact at a grand opening last week.
